Portugal: Festival da Canção 2024 First Semi-Final Results

• The first six finalists of the Portuguese national selection for Eurovision 2024 have been determined with the first semi final show of Festival da Canção 2024.

  Portugal is using once again its traditional national selection format of Festival da Canção which is running for its 58th edition. The 1st semi final show took place in RTP studios in Lisbon and was hosted by  Tânia Ribas de Oliveira, José Carlos Malato and Inês Lopes Gonçalves. 

  An in studio jury by 50% and the public vote by another 50% determined the first six qualifiers that advanced to the Grand final show set for March 9,2024. The jury was made up by the following members: 

  • Gisela João – singer
  • Benjamim – musician
  • Lia Pereira – journalist
  • Miguel Esteves Cardoso – songwriter
  • Lura – singer
  • Pedro Oliveira – musician
  • Mimicat – Portugal's Eurovision 2023 act

   

  A total of 10 acts competed in this first semi final heat in the following running order:

   

  Nena – “Teorias da Conspiração” 

   

  Perpétua – “Bem Longe Daqui” 

   

  Mela – “Água”

   

  Mila Dores – “Afia a Língua” 

   

  Left – “Volto a Ti ” 

   

  Rita Rocha – “Pontos Finais” 

   

  Noble – “Memory” 

  • João Borsch – “Pelas Costuras” 
  • Iolanda – “Grito” 
  • Bispo – “Casa Portuguesa” 

   

  The Results

  The six finalists were determined 50% by the jury and 50% by the television audience. Without revealing the semi-final ranking the first six qualifiers are: 

  • Rita Rocha – “Pontos Finais”
  • Nena – “Teorias da Conspiração” 
  • Perpétua – “Bem Longe Daqui” 
  • Iolanda – “Grito” 
  • João Borsch – “Pelas Costuras” 
  • Noble – “Memory”(By televoting only)

   

  The Portuguese national selection will continue on March 2 with the second semi final show during which 10 more acts will compete for the rest five spots in the Grand final.
