Moldova: Natalia Barbu singing “In The Middle” to Eurovision 2024

Natalie Barbu won the Moldovan National Selection “Etapa Națională 2024 and is making her comeback on the Eurovision stage with her song 'In the middle'.
A total of 11 artists took part in the Moldovan national final for Eurovision 2024 that took place this evening with the past Eurovisionn participant Natalie Barbu standing out from the line-up and eventually winning the competition.
The 11 acts took to the stage and performed in the following running order:

- Viola Julea – “Light Up!”
- O L – “No Time No Space”
- Sasha Letty – “DNA”

- Catalina Solomac – “Fever”
- Victor Gulick – “Fever”
- Iulia Teleuca -“Runaway”
The Results
The outcome of the national final was determined by a combination of jury and public voting. The jury favored Natalie Barbu awarding her the maximum 12 points by each juror while Valeria Pasha came second. The televoting was a reverse situation where Valreia Pasha came first with Natalie Barbu second. However, adding up the two results brought Natalie on the top of the overall score and her returning on the Eurovision stage.

Natalia Barbu born 22 August 1979, is a Moldovan singer and songwriter. She is best known for representing Moldova in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 with the song "Fight".
Throughout her career, Natalia has worked with a group of musicians called Trigon on an alternative jazz-folk experiment. She writes her own lyrics, composes the music for most of her songs, and collaborates on the arrangements with her crew.In 2006, Natalia Barbu signed a three-year contract with Cat Music Records (Sony Music) office in Bucharest.
Her main success has been the release of her single "Îngerul meu" (My Angel) in Romania. The song remained in the Romanian Top 100 for 11 weeks at No.1, and was much featured on MTV Romania.
On 14 December 2006, Barbu was selected to represent Moldova at the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 with the song "Fight".At the contest, she qualified from the semi-final on 10 May 2007 and ultimately placed 10th in the final on 12 May 2007, scoring 109 points.
Natalie will be performing in the second half of the 1st semi-final on May 7 in Malmo Arena.
