Eurovision 2024: Semi-Final Allocation draw scheduled for January 30

-
January 30, 2024 is the date the Eurovision Song Contest Semi- Final Allocation Draw and Host City Insignia Handover Ceremony will be taking place in Malmo.
The organisers of the 68th Eurovision Song Contest have confirmed that the Semi-Final Allocation Draw and Handover Ceremony for Eurovision 2024 will take place on January 30.
On January 30 we will get to know in which semi-final each of the 31 participating countries will compete in as the draw that will determine the semifinals allocation will take place at Malmo in Liverpool along with the Handover Ceremony.
The draw process
There will be two stages in the draw process. The first draw will decide in which semi-final the prequalfied nations (Germany, the United Kingdom -this year's host-, Italy, France, Spain and of course Ukraine) will be casting their votes in.
The second phase of the draw will settle the rest 31 nations and which semi-final they'll be competing while a second draw will decide in which half of the semi-final they will appear on stage. The 31 countries are distributed in pots according to the voting pattern of each country in the past years. This formula aims to avoid neighbouring voting between the nations.
However the exact running order of the semifinals will be resolved by the producers in late March.
