Croatia: Baby Lasagna wins Dora 2024 and is off to Eurovision 2024 with “Rim Tim Tagi Dim”

Baby Lasagna has won the Croatian national final of Dora 2024 with the song “Rim Tim Tagi Dim” and will be flying the flag at Eurovision 2024 in Malmo, Sweden.
The Croatian national broadcaster, opted again this year for Dora 2024 as the national selection formula for Eurovision 2024. This year's edition faced some changes as the semifinals were introduced in the selection for the first time after 13 editions.
Out of a record number of 203 entries the national final HRT shorlisted 24 acts to compete in Dora 2024, 12 in each semi-final and with eight acts qualifying from each semi round. Thus this evening we saw a total of 16 contestnats battling for the right to represent Croatia at Eurovision 2024 in Malmo, Sweden.
The show was hosted by Duško Čurlić, Maja Ciglenečki and Anja Cerar and the 16 contestants delivered their entries in the following running order:

3. Lana Mandarić – More
4. Boris Štok – Can We Talk
5. Stefany Žužić – Sretnih dana dat’ će Bog

7. Saša Lozar – Ne plačem zbog nje
8. Lara Demarin – Ne vjerujem ti
9. Let 3 – Baba Roga
10. Alen Đuras – A Tamburitza Lullaby
11. eugen – Tišine
12. Vatra – Slatke suze, gorka ljubav
13. Damir Kedžo – Voljena ženo
14. Baby Lasagna – RIM TIM TAGI DIM
15. MARCELA – Gasoline
16. Vinko – Lying Eyes
The results
The outcome of the final was influenced by the votes coming from four national juries (25%) along with four international juries (25%) and the Televoting (50%).
International juries results
The four national Juries came from four regions in Croatia. Namely, Osijek, Rijeka, Split and Zagreb. The body of international jury consisted of jurors from Germany, Iceland, Italy, Ukraine.
Combining the voting of national and international juries and halfway through the voting process, the results were the following:
Baby Lasagna was Dora’s juries favorite along with Vinko at 2nd placew and Let 3 closing the top 3.
Televoting results (50%)
The audience also favored Baby Lasagna but according to the public verdict second came Alen Đuras and Let 3 third as in the juries' vote. Here is how the score looked with the telelvoting points added:
After combining the two sets of votings ( Juries and public vote) Baby Lasagna topped the overall scoreboard and will be representing Croatia at Eurovision 2024 with the song “Rim Tim Tagi Dim”.
A few words for Baby Lasagna
Marko Purišić (born 5 July 1995), known professionally as Baby Lasagna, is a Croatian singer, songwriter and music producer.
From 2011 to 2016 and from 2018 to 2022, Purišić served as the guitarist for Manntra, a Croatian rock band.While still a member of the band, they participated in Dora 2019, securing the fourth position with the song "In the Shadows" with a total of 12 points. Following his tenure with the group, he transitioned to pursue a solo career in 2023. On 21 October 2023, Purišić released his debut single "IG Boi" under the pseudonym Baby Lasagna through Molly Studios. Two months later, in December 2023, his second single "Don't Hate Yourself, But Don't Love Yourself too Much" was released.
The Croatian hopeful will be performing in the first half of the 1st semi-final on May 7 in Malmo Arena.
