  • The Ukrainian Eurovision 2023 hopefuls, TVORCHI, released a revamp of TheIr Eurovision 2023 entry "Heart Of Steel". 

    Ukraine was the first country that chose its Eurovision 2023 entry. Through the national final “Vidbir“, TVORCHI and “Heart Of Steel” were chosen to represent the country in the Eurovision contest. 

     

     

     

    In the song there are no big differences, except that Ukrainian lyrics and a more dynamic orchestration have been added which upgrades the song. They really work hard and they want to present the best result in Liverpool.

    Here's the revamped version of "Heart Of Steel":

    TVORCHI with their song 'Heart of Steel' will be competing directly in the Grand final show on May 13, 2023 in Liverpool as in the last edition Ukraine was the winning country of the contest, despite not been able to host the competition.  

     

    A few words about TVORCHI

    Tvorchi are a Ukrainian electronic music duo from Ternopil, formed in 2018 by producer Andrii Hutsuliak and vocalist Jimoh Augustus Kehinde (alias Jeffery Kenny). They have released four studio albums: The Parts (2018), Disco Lights (2019), 13 Waves (2020) and Road (2020).

    Andrii Viktorovych Hutsuliak and Jimoh Augustus Kehinde met while they were students at the Faculty of Pharmacy of Ternopil National Medical University. On 30 May 2017, the duo released their first single, "Slow". On 4 September, their second single "You" was released.

    On 2 February 2018, Tvorchi released their debut album, The Parts. On 20 September 2018, the duo released a video for the song "Molodist". On 14 February 2019, the second album named Disco Lights was released. On 21 February, the duo released a video for the song "Believe". According to the duo, the shooting budget was $100. Within a few days, the video garnered 400,000 views on YouTube, and the song ranked 9th in Google Play charts in Ukraine.

    The music video for the song "Mova tila" from the second studio album Disco Lights premiered on 7 May on the duo's YouTube channel and on the M1 television show Premier. The video, directed by Andrii Lahutin, was shot in the fall of 2019 in Kyiv. On 25 September 2020, the music video for the lead single from the album 13 Waves, "Living My Life", was released.

    In September 2020, Tvorchi released their third album, 13 Waves, which was recorded remotely because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The album was played more than two million times on music platforms in the first week since its release. On 19 December 2020, the duo won the online music award "Culture Ukraine" in two categories: 'Best New Artist', and 'Best English-language single' for "Bonfire". The duo was also nominated for the YUNA 2021 Music Awards in four categories, including 'Album of the Year'.

    In the summer of that year, the duo performed at music festivals Faine Misto (Ternopil), Atlas Weekend (Kyiv) and Ukrainian Song Project (Lviv). On 9 September, the duo released the single "Ne tantsiuiu". In February 2020, Tvorchi entered Vidbir with the song "Bonfire", placing fourth in the final.

     

    Ukraine in Eurovision

    Ukraine participated for the first time at the Eurovision Song Contest 2003 when Oleksandr Ponormayov represented the country Hasta la vista. Ukraine has won the Eurovision trophy two times, in 2004 with Ruslana and in 2016 (Jamala). Following both victories the country hosted the contest in 2005 and 2017. The country has achieved remarkable results as it has reached 10 times the top 10 places in its 15 year ESC history.

    Namely, Since the introduction of the semi-final round in 2004, Ukraine is the only country outside the Big 5 to have qualified for the final of every Eurovision they have competed in. Ukraine has a total of seven top five placements, with Verka Serduchka (2007) and Ani Lorak (2008) both finishing second, Zlata Ognevich third (2013), Mika Newton fourth (2011) and Go_A fifth (2021). The only countries with more top five results in the 21st century are Sweden (11) and Russia (10).

    In 2019 Ukraine saw a dramatic national selection Vidbir, which saw Maruv winning with her entry Siren Song. After a serial of dramatic developments between the broadcaster and the winner eventually Ukraine withdrew from the Eurovision 2019.

    In 2020 after two semi final rounds and a total of 16 candidates, the Ukrainian national final for Eurovision 2020, Vidbir 2020, crowned winner the group  Gо_A  and the entry  “Solovey” . Unfortunately their Eurovision journey stayed incomplete as the contest was cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak. The band was invited back for Eurovision 2021 in which they competed with the song 'Shum' which brought one more top 10 result for the nation finishing in 5th place in the Grand final with a total of 364 points in the overall score.

    Last year, Kalush Orchestra represented the nation with their song 'Stefania'Kalush Orchestra took part on May 12 in the 1st semi final achieving to qualify by winning the semifinal. The Ukrainian representatives brought the third trophy to Ukraine after winning the Grand final. The band accomplished to came 4th in the jury voting and by topping the televoting with the record breaking amount of 439 points won the competition with the overall score of 631 points.
