Spain: RTVE releases the names of the Benidorm Fest 2023 contestants

The Spanish national broadcaster, RTVE, published the names of the 18 contestants of Benidorm Fest 2023 which will be determining Spain next Eurovision hopeful.
The selection process in Spain is in progress as RTVE revealed the 18 artists that will be taking part in the Eurovision 2023 national selection. As we already know, Spain will be using Benidorm Fest in order to select their Eurovision 2-2023 representative. The event met massive success in this year's edition, with the winner, Chanel slaying in Turin and bringing a 3rd placing with her 'SloMo'.
The 18 acts that ambition to represent Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool are:

- Blanca Paloma
- Aritz Arén
- Rakky
- Alfred García
- Sofía Martín
- Alice Wonder
- Famous
- Megara
- Vicco
- Twin Melody
- José Otero
- Karmento
- Sharonne
- Meler
- Siderland
Among the candidates we see a former Spanish Eurovision representative and past national final participants. Namely, Alfred Garcia represented Spain at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon with Amaya, while Famous had taken part in Operacion Triunfo’s Eurovision selection in 2019 and Agoney in 2018. Also Blanca Paloma is a returning Benidorm Fest act as she had competed earlier this year in the Spanish national selection.
Benidorm Fest 2023
Benidorm Fest 2023 will kick off with the Opening Ceremony on January 29,2023 with three televised show to follow. Two semifinals and one Grand final will be make up the Spanish national selection. Eight acts will compete in each semi-final round with the first four qualifying to the final show, which will see a total of 8 candidates competing for the golden ticket to Eurovision 2023.
Thus, Benidorm Fest 2023 will unfold according to the following schedule:
- January 29 – Opening Ceremony
- January 31 – Semi-Final 1
- February 2 – Semi-Final 2
- February 4 – Grand Final
The music festival will be hosted by the international Spanish star Monica Naranjo. The outcome of the competition will be determined 50% by the public and 50% by a jury. The public vote will include a 25% of votes coming from a demoscopic jury and 25% by the televoting. The Jury will be made up by international and national music experts.
