Slovenia: Details of Misija Liverpool unveiled

RTVSLO, national broadcaster of Slovenia has announced full details of the show that will present the Eurovision entry of Joker Out the Slovenian representatives for Eurovision Song Contest 2023,
The show will air on February 4th and Miša Molk will be hosting the special show. In 1992 and 1996 until 2000 she was the commentator at the Eurovision Song Contest in Slovenia and announced Slovenia's first points in the competition in 1993.
During the show, the audience will accompany Joker Out who have recorded their song for the competition in Hamburg, Germany. Regarding the song, it will be performed in Slovenian, as the band stated:
“The Eurovision Song Contest has not been genre-defined or limited for a long time. We remain true to ourselves, regardless of where and when we perform,”
Some of Slovenia's past Eurovision acts will perform in the show: Amaya (2011), LPS (2022), Nuša Derenda (2001) and Tomaž Mihelič (2002) will be featuring RTVSLO's show for Eurovision 2023. In addtion, the brainstorming Konstrakta -last year Serbia's representative- with the song 'Il Corpore Sano' will be gracing the show's stage.
Apart from the show, it has been confirmed that Joker Out will take part in numerous promotional preparty events across Europe among which the ones in Madrid, Barcelona, Warsaw and Amsterdam.
A few words for 'Joker Out'
Joker Out is a pop rock band that has been operating since 2016. They describe their style as "shagadelic rock'n'roll."
The band formed in May 2016, following the break-up of the Apocalypse group, which sycabbed bojan cvjetićanin, Martin Jurkovič, Matic Kovačič and Luka Škerlep. Three of them – Cvjetićaninu, Jurkovič and Kovačič – were joined by Kris Guštin and Jan Peteh of the Bourgeage group and the Joker Out was formed. Their first public appearance was at the Gaju Festival (21 May). In November, they released their first single "Like a Blood-Driven Heart," for which they also recorded their first music video.
After several single published from 2016 to 2022, their debut album Dirty Thoughts was released in October 2021. It was originally due to be released as early as April 2020, but its outcome was postponed several times due to a coronavirus pandemic. On October 10, it was announced on Instagram that the band was being abandoned by bassist Martin Jurkovič (due to study abroad). For now, they continue as a quartet, accompanied by Nace Jordan.
Slovenia in Eurovision
Slovenia participated at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1993 with 1X Band and hasn’t won yet the competition. The country’s best results in the contest are the 7th placings, achieved in 1995 (Darja Svajger) and 2001 (Nusa Derenda).
Slovenia has competed 26 times in the contest since their debut in 1993, and has only missed out the contests of 1994 and 2000 when it had to stay out of the event due to the rules of the competition at that time.
In 2020, Ana Soklič won the national final with her entry ‘Voda’, EMA 2020, back in February and earned the right to represent Slovenia at the Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam. Unfortunately the Slovenian act saw her Eurovision journey stay incomplete as the contest was cancelled due to the covid-19 outbreak. Nevertheless the Slovenian act was chosen internally for Eurovision 2021 having a second chance to complete her ESC journey in Rotterdam where she performed the song "Amen" in the 1st Semi final but failed to qualiied to the Grand final show.
In the 2022 edition in Turin LPS won the EMA national final with their song 'Disko' which last in their semi final failing to reach the Grand final show.
