Romania: It's Theodor Andrei with “D.G.T. (Off and on)” for Eurovision 2023!

  • Theodor Andrei won Romania's Selectia nationala final for Eurovision 2023 singing 'D.G.T. (Off and on)' and will representing the nation in Liverpool. 

    Theodor Andrei will be the next Romanian Eurovision hopeful for Liverpool after winning this evening's national final. The show that was hosted by Laurențiu Niculescu, lead singer of the band The Colours and  Ilinca, who represented Romania at Eurovision 2017 and was hosting from the Green Room. 

    The national final saw a total of 12 contestants taking the stage chasing their dream to represent Romania in Liverpool. 

    Namely the 12 competing acts  of the night were: 

    1. Deiona — “Call on me”
    2. Andrada Popa — “No time for me”
    3. Ocean Drive — “Take you home”
    4. AMIA — “Puppet”
    5. Andrei Duțu — “Statues”
    6. Theodor Andrei — “D.G.T. (Off and on)”
    7. Steven Roho x Gabriella x Formaţia Albatros — “Lele”
    8. Aledaida — “Bla Bla Bla”
    9. Adriana Moraru — “Faralaes”
    10. Maryliss — “Hai Vino”
    11. JaxMan (Erin Dăneţ) — “Bad & cool”
    12. Andreea D Folclor Orchestra — “Periniţa mea”

     

    The result

    The winner was determined exclusive by public voting which declared as Romania's Eurovision 2023 hopeful Theodor Andrei. Check out below the overall results of the Romanian national final:

    A few words for Theodor

    Theodor Andrei (born 9 April 2004) is a Romanian singer. Theodor Andrei made himself known by participating in the 2017 talent show Vocea Romaniei Junior, the Romanian version of The Voice Kids, where he reached the semi-finals. In 2020 he took part in the local version of X Factor, where he stopped at bootcamps. Her debut album, Fragil, was released in 2022.

    In December 2022, Theodor Andrei was confirmed among the 12 participants in Selecția Națională 2023. t.D.G.T. (Off and On), his song for the competition, had already been released as a track on his album in collaboration with Luca Udățeanu.
