Poland: Blanka with the song "Solo" selected for Eurovision 2023

Blanka is Poland's Eurovision 2023 hopeful after winning the national final"Tu bije serce Europy" singing "Solo".
The nation is one of the last countries to choose their representative this. Ten participants competed for the golden ticket to Liverpool. The show hosted by the trio Aleksander Sikora, Ida Nowakowska and Małgorzata Tomaszewska.
In addition several guest stars will feature the show. namely Kalush Orchestra the winners of Eurovision 2022, Stefania (Greece 2020,2021) , Ochman (Poland 2022), Efendi (Azerbaijan 2020, 2021), Sarah James (JESC 2021 runner up for Poland) Roksana Węgiel (Winner of JESC 2018) and Edyta Górniak (Poland 2014) will treat the audience with their performances.
The 10 contestants appeared on stage in the following running order:
- Natasza – “Lift u up“
- Kuba – “You Do Me“
- Ahlena – “Booty“
- Dominik Dudek – “Be Good“
- Alicja Szemplińska – “New Home“
- Felivers – “Never Back Down“
- Maja Hyży – “Never Hide“
- Jann – “Gladiator“
- Blanka – “Solo“
- Yan Majewski – “Champion“
The outcome of the show was determined by the contribution of public and jury voting by 50% each. Blanka devlared winner while Jann came second and Dominik Dudek finished third. The members of the jury which which infuenced the results in the first round were:
- Edyta Górniak – Poland Eurovision 1994
- Marek Sierocki – TV presenter
- Agustin Egurola – Choreographer
- Marcin Kusy – Director of Jedynka radio station
A few words for Blanka
Blanka Stajkow (born 23 May 1999) is a Polish singer and model.
Stajkow was born in Szczecin to a Polish mother and Bulgarian father. According to Stajkow, neither of her parents have a musical background. Her mother would encourage her from an early age to try various activities, including joining disco dance groups and going to music schools. In an interview, Stajkow would mention that during her mornings, her mother would always turn on either MTV or Trace Urban, which would encourage her to go into the music industry.
At the age of 13, she would decide to make and release her first single, "Strong Enough". In 2021, she would compete in Top Model, a Polish reality television show. While on the show, she would officially release her first official single, "Better". The following year, she would sign a contract with Warner Music Poland, and release her second single, "Solo".
