Finland: Käärijä will fly the flag at Eurovision 2023 with

  • Käärijä won the Finnish national final of UMK 2023 and will be representing Finland at Eurovision 2023 singing "Cha Cha Cha".

    Finland determined once again their Eurovision hopeful through the Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu (UMK) taking place in Logomo arena in Turku hosted by Samu Haber. The show opened the female artist BESS,  while The Rasmus and Samu Haber appreared during the show as guests.

     

     

    The competition saw a total of seven acts compete on stage for the ticket to Liverpool.

    The results

    The results were determined by international juries (25%) and public voting (75%). First were announced the results from the International juries with the scoreboard turning out as following:

    Once the televoting results were added to the jury's votes this is how the final overall results turned out declaring Käärijä as Finland's 2023 Eurovision representative with the song "Cha Cha Cha".

    A few words about Käärijä

    Born in October 21 the 29 year old Jere Pöyhönen,better known under the stage name Käärijä , is a Finnish rap artist. Käärijä spent most of his youth in Ruskeasanna, Vantaa. He played ice hockey for a long time and the drums, with that, his enthusiasm for making his own music began in 2014. His stage name comes from a joke among friends about rolling money in gambling.
