Eurovision 2023: The host Insignia Handover Ceremony & the Semi final allocation draw results

Today the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 official Host Insignia Handover Ceremony took place along with the semi final allocation draw at St George’s Hall in Liverpool.
The organisers are gearing up for the next Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool as this afternoon the semi final allocation draw took place. Now each one of the 31 semi finalists countries know in which semi final it will compete and in which part of it (first or second half).
Both the Host Insignia Handover Ceremony and the semi-final allocation draws presented to us by AJ Odudu and Rylan live from St George’s Hall in Liverpool.
Host Insignia Handover Ceremony
Before holding the semi final allocation draw the traditional host insignia handover Ceremony took place at at St. George’s Hall. The Mayor of Turin Stefano Lo Russo ( the previous host city) handed the keys of the organization to the new host city and the Mayor of Liverpool Joanne Anderson.
THE SEMI FINAL VOTING ALLOCATION FOR THE "BIG 5" COUNTRIES
Before the semi final allocation the countries that qualify directly in the final , the Big-5 (France, Germany, U.K, Spain and Italy) and the host coutry (The Ukraine) found out in which semi final they will be voting.
Semi-Final 1: France, Germany, Italy
Semi-Final 2: United Kingdom, Spain, Ukraine
THE SEMI FINAL ALLOCATION DRAW
In order for the allocation draw to take place the 31 countries were distributed in 6 pots. This is to avoid block and neighbouring voting among countries that traditionally trend to vote each other. Here are the results of the allocation draw which determined in which semi final will each country of compete and in which half of it.
On the first column of each semi final are the competing countries that will appear in the first half of the show with the second column showing the 2nd half appearances. The exact running order of the shows will be determined later on by the producers of the contest.

A total of 36 nations will take part in the 67th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool. With the Big-5 countries (Italy, Germany, Spain, UK and France) qualifying directly to the Grand final on May 13, the rest 31 countries will pass through two semi finals set for 9 and 11 May. All three live shows of Eurovision 2023 will be held in M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool, United Kingdom.
