  • BBC, the host broadcaster of the 67th Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool, is running a tender for the production of the postcards.

BBC is in full steam progessing preparations for the next Eurovision Song Contest the hosting of which lays in the British broadcasters hands. One of the significant elements of the competition are the postcards that feature the live shows.

    What are the postcards

Postcards are the small clips that are shown between the songs during the contest and helps us to know the performer of each country and showcase the local beauties of the host nation, but also to give the organizers the necessary time to prepare the stage for the next contestant.

You can get an idea of how the postcards look like by checking out the host nation's postcard of this year (Italy 2022):

The BBC is in search of the appropriate company that will be assigned with creating the concept of the Eurovision 2023 postcards and the production of them for each one of the 37 participating countries.

Specifially the BBC is seeking for the following:

A company to come up with a concept for the postcards and then produce them. They will need to fit with the overall creative ambition of Eurovision 2023.

Further information will be provided to the indies who are shortlisted to submit creative ideas for the postcards.

The successful indie will need to deliver 37 postcards in HD 16:9, colour-corrected and audio post produced and at an exact length of 40 seconds. They need to be identical in shape but still be bespoke for each country.

The successful indie will manage all the logistics of the shoots and work closely with the BBC commissioner on storyboards and edits for each film.

They will need to deliver a pilot postcard to set the style before embarking on the filming process.

They will need to be prepared to work closely with the team at BBC Studios who are delivering the arena coverage to ensure the smooth transition in and out of the postcards.
