Austria: Teya & Salena's Eurovision 2023 song 'Who the hell is Edgar?' is out!

The Austrian Eurovision 2023 hopefuls Teya and Salena have released their song for Liverpool “Who the hell is Edgar?”.
The Austrian broadcaster, ORF, had selected internally for Eurovoision 2023 Teya and Salena to represent the country in Liverpool this May. ORF has been selecting their representatives and songs for Eurovision internally since 2017.
This year's representatives, Teya and Salena released today their song for Eurovision 2023 titled “Who the hell is Edgar?”. The song has been penned and composed by Teodora Spiric, Selina-Maria Edbauer, Ronald Janeček and Pele Loriano.
Along with song has been released the official music video which has been filmed in Prague a couple of weeks before.
A few words for Teya & Selena
TEYA started to love music since she was twelve. Adele and Amy Winehouse are two of the idols she adores. She taught herself how to sing, participipated in musicals, and had her first experiences on stage as a saxophone player. At 17 she began writing songs. In 2020, she competed in both national shows for Austria’s and Serbia’s participation to the Eurovision Song Contest.
SALENA began to sing at the age of seven, and she learnt to play the quitar on her own. She performed at school events, weddings and christenings with a band and by herself. In 2017, she made until the third round of “The Voice of Germany”. In 2019 she tried to get into the Song Contest as an Austrian entry and since 2020 she has been the voice of Hitradio Ö3 station.
Austria in Eurovision
Austria debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1957 and has won the competition twice with Udo Jurgens in Eurovision 1966 and the song Merci, Chérie and Conchita Wurst and her entry Rise Like a Phoenix in Eurovision 2014. Tbne country's last highest results came in 2018when Austria selected Cesar Sampson via an internal selection and represented the country with his entry Nobody but you. The Austrian act achieved a honorable 3rd placing in the Grand Final by winning the jury voting winning the jury voting.
Vincent Bueno was selected internally to represent the country at Eurovision 2020 in Rotterdam witht the song “Alive” but as the event was cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak, missed the joy to perform in Rotterdam. However ORF selected Vincent internally for Eurovision 2021 in Rotterdam, where he performed the song "Amen" in the second semi final show in which he was placed 12th with 66 points failing to qualify to the Grand final despite he's impressive vocally performance on stage.
Last year DJ LUM!X & Pia Maria were internally selected to defend the Austrian colors in Turin singing 'Halo' who despite their energetic performance didn't make it to the Grand final.
