  • The German national broadcaster, NDR, has confirmed participation in Eurovision 2022 and has commenced preparations for next year's selection.

Germany marks the first country to confirm its participation in the 66th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, even though the 2021 contest is ahead.

NDR has kicked off preparations by starting its search for the fans that will form the 100 member jury that will contribute to the selection of next year's German Eurovision act and song.

The German broadcaster is seeking for peope whose taste in music resembles to that of the contest's audience. In order to achieve this purpose NDR has launched a special online platform  in which music clips are displayed with fans having to rate them and cast a ranking.

The 100 fans who will manage to stand out for their taste in Eurovision will join the jury that will contribute in selecting the next Eurovision representative.

The deadline for fans to apply ends on April 7, 2021.

NDR will be following the same internal selection format for Eurovision 2022 with two bodies of juries determining the act and entry. Thus a 100 member jury consisted of fans along with a 20 member jury formed by international music experts will be responsible to select the country's 2022 Eurovision act and entry.
