Montenegro: Nina Zizic will fly the flag at Eurovision 2025

  • Nina Zizic will be representing Montenegro at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Basel, Switzerland next May.

    Followiing NeonoeN's withdrawal from Eurovision 2025 as their entry for Basel was found to be breaking the EBU rules, Montenegro's broasdcaster, RTCG, decided to send Nina Zicic to defend the nation's colors at Eurovision 2025. 

    Nina had came first in the jury voting of the national final with 12 points  which combined with the 7 points of the televoting brouhgt her in the 2nd place of the competition with her song ‘Dobrodosli’.

    Nna is no stragner to the Eurovision audience as she had taken part in Eurovision 2013 representing Montenegro with No Name and their entry ‘Igranka’

     

    Montengro in Eurovision

    Montenegro made its debut in the contest in 2007 as an independed country. It particpated until 2010 when it decided to withdraw due to financial reasons. In 2012 the country made its Eurovision comeback.

    In 2014 Sergej Ćetković and his song Moj svijet represented the country and achieved for the first time to qualify to the Grand final, ending in 19th place. One year later Knez with his entry Adio scored the country’s best result by finishing 13th in the Grand final. In 2017 Slavko Kalezić, finished 16th in the semi final with the song  Space. 

    In 2022 Montenegro got back on board and took part in the contest in Turin where internally selected Vladana flew the flag performing the song 'Breathe'. She competed in the Second semi-final where she finished 17th failing to qualify to the Grand final. 

    In the last two editions (2023 - 2024) Montenegro opted to take a break from the contest.
