Ukraine : National broadcaster to air the special series of shows ‘How does Europe sing?' '

  • Joining several other broadcasters across the continent, the Ukrainian national broadcaster, has unveiled its alternative program , it will be broadcasting, in order to replace this year's cancelled Eurovision show due to the coronavirus pandemic. 

    UA:PBC will be airing a series of special shows titled ‘How does Europe sing?  The shows will be hosted by Timur Miroshnychenko (ESC 2017 host) during which the audience will be able to see the 41 ESC 2020 entries with Ukrainian subtitles and and have the chance to  cast  its vote for their favorite songs . Apart from the entres the show will spotlight the acts' background in order to let the Ukrainian audiencet to get to know this year's unlucky contestants. 

    The host of the show Timur Miroshnychenko stated on the show:

    Millions of Eurovision fans have been waiting for Eurovision as if it was their own birthday. We will see some of this year’s participants compete next year, but with new songs, whilst some countries will elect other representatives. If your favorite artist does not represent your country in 2021, do not worry! We will talk about all the 2020 Eurovision participants on How Does Europe Sing!

    The series of shows will kick off on May 4 and will unfold over a total of 5 episodes  according to the following schedule:

    • 05/05/2020How does Europe Sing Show (2nd episode 
    • 06/05/2020- How does Europe Sing Show (3rd episode)
    • 07/05/2020How does Europe Sing Show  (4th episode)

    • 16/05/2020Eurovision: Europe Shine A Light

    Further more, the Ukrainian broadcaster will be joining the total of 45 national broadcasting that will be airing  May 16  the special show 'Eurovision: Europe Shine A Light'.

    This year the winners of the Vidbir 2020, the group Go_A ,won the right to represent the country at Eurovision 2020 in  Rotterdam with their entry Solovey. Despite this year's bad luck as the contest was cancelled, the group will have the chance to represent Ukraine in Eurovision 2021 with a new song.
