  • The Head of the Polish national broadcaster, TVP, has confirmed the country's participation in Eurovision 2023 and offers to help in the hosting of the next edition.

Talking to plejada.pl just before this year's grand finalthe head of TVP,  Jacek Kurski, confirmed that Poland will be present at the Eurovsion Song Contest 2023 and is also keen to help out with the hosting of next year's competition.

    Mr. Kurski, stated precisely:

"We always participate. Since I am the president of Telewizja Polska, I ordered Poland to return to Eurovision Junior and we have successes here - two victories and the third, in fact, also a victory, because Armenia gave us 1 point, we gave Armenia 12 points, and won with us by 4 points, in therefore, had they acted honorably, Poland would have won the third time. Perhaps Poland could not win the third time in four editions, because others would not want to compete. For me, Sara James won that Junior Eurovision. Now it's time for more successes in Adult Eurovision, I believe in it very much."

The news were also announced on the Eurovision Poland Twitter account earlier this afternoon.

    Contribution in next year's hosting

In addtion the head of TVP, stated that they are ready to contribute in every way in the hosting of next year's edition if it is necessary. Responding to the repsective question he answered:

We are always open. The provision of the halls is the responsibility of individual cities or titular sponsors, here it would probably be about help in the implementation and production of such a signal, these are real costs. There is always a willingness to help, but there are also procedures that bind us as a State Treasury company, a public company, we are disciplined here, and therefore I cannot make promises except generally good will in this matter.
