Friday, 14 October 2022

  • Montenegro's national broadcaster, RTCG, has decided not to take part in the 67th Eurovision Song Contest next year in Liverpool.

RTCG has confirmed that the Balkan country will be be present in Eurovision 2023 after assessing the country's financial situation and the funds required for such a participation in 2023. The broadcaster has released the following statement explaining the reasons behind the decision:

“In addition to the significant costs of the registration fee, as well as the cost of staying in Great Britain, we also faced a lack of interest from sponsors, so we decided to direct existing resources to the financing of current and planned national projects and organizational and program reforms, which entail significant investment interventions in equipment and premises.”
