Czechia: Aiko releases the revamped version of 'Pedestal'
Thursday, 21 March 2024

  • Czechia's Eurovision 2024 hopeful, Aiko, has released the revamped version of her entry from Malmo, 'Pedestal'

Back in December Aiko won the Czech national final with her song 'Pedestal' and secured her spot in the Eurovision 2024 line-up.

"Pedestal" has been composed by Aiko and Steven Ansell. Aiko has self-described the song as a "self-love, post-breakup anthem" meant to release her anger after breaking up in a relationship with an unnamed partner. The song also "talks about negative emotions and situations" one experiences at the end of a toxic relationship

Since then her song went through a slight change of lyrics and  new instrumentation. Specidically, the lyrics:  “Love me more than your bullshit”  has turned into “Love me more than you once did”, in order to comply with the EBU rules that do not allow vulgar language in the competing entries.
